Today was a lovely cold bright day. A touch of frost made the ground hard and easier to walk on rather than trailing through mud, and the sky was the brightest blue.

Fungi

Some sort of Fungi in a vivid burnt orange colour. I have not been able to identify it yet .

Stock Dove

I came across a pair of pretty Stock Doves hanging out with the Wood Pigeons. The name comes from the old English word “Stocc” which means stump or tree trunk. So Stock Dove roughly means “a dove that lives in a hollow tree”.

Meadow Pipit

Meadow Pipits can be identified by their long back claw.
