Carp Fishing

Dobbo thought he would have a session on McGregor Lake and on arriving at the venue the back water was still limited to access so he fished the railway side of the lake.

His first 2 choices of swims were taken so fished a swim he has fished before (with little success) which is almost straight down from the gate in the second car park.

Despite various methods, no carp were caught, however, there was a few indications that fish were moving, liners and the odd splash in the margins. It was the same story for the other 2 anglers that were there when he arrived.

Typically as he was leaving an angler to his right did managed to get a nice mirror carp of just over 21lb on artificial sweet corn fished over a bed of natural sweet corn to the island by the disabled swim.

The second time that swim has produced a fish over the last 2 weeks so one to try next week, only problem is if someone comes to fish the disabled swim you have taken their water and it leaves you with no where to fish.
